Anneke van Giersbergen, the voice of The Gathering, as well as Arjen Lucassen, the brain of Ayreon, have joined forces to revolutionise the Prog Rock/Metal genre with The Gentle Storm. The concept album „The diary“ refers with its devoted attention to detail and the unprecedented artistic design on mammoth works from the seventies. The result is an extremely exciting 2-CD concept album, on which every song is presented in 2 wonderfully contrasting versions: as heavy instrumented Storm-version and as folk-acoustic Gentle-version.
