In addition to numerous awards, he was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2014 as a co-founder and original lead guitarist of KISS. Guitar World ranked him in the top 15 of '100 Greatest Heavy Metal Guitarists of All Time' and included 'Shock Me' on the list of '50 Greatest Guitar Solos of All Time'.
